Gus: The Theatre Cat

Gus is an aged stage actor. He's very old, maybe even older than Old Deuteronomy himself. Gus (his full name's Asparagus, but that's too much to pronounce) was once a famous star. He acted with Irving and Tree, and even understudied Dick Whittington's cat. He used to know seventy speeches by heart, and his greatest creation was Firefrorefiddle, the fiend of the fell.

He kept the theatres free of mice and rats, but is now too old. Now he is only capable of greeting people at the door as they go into the theatre, and griping about how kittens nowadays are not being properly trained. But No!! Gus informs us that he is not too old to play Growltiger, and becomes the fearsome pirate.

Gus has a shabby coat and is thin as a rake. He also has palsy that makes his paws shake. Gus may be Jellylorum's father.
